The book starts a bit slowly, and it is hard to get a feel for the tone at first. However, things pick up midway through chapter 3, when Alex arrives in Los Angeles. All we really need to know to begin is that Alex is a pianist who usually keeps to herself but has a successful CD out, and so now with the help of her manager, Josh, has been on a couple of British television programs and is to be a guest pianist at an Oscars after-party.Jo, the love interest, is a British actress who hires Alex to play the piano at a private party. There follows a nice romance, working around their busy schedules, the closet, a traumatic event, and the media. Throughout, there were other parts of the book that could have been said with less, and I found myself skimming a bit. Also, it is not always readily apparent which of the two main characters is speaking, since the author does not very often use "Alex said" or "Jo said." However, the romance was heartfelt and there was no manufactured drama between the two. All in all, this is a nice first offering, and I would try a second book by the author.

This was a great story! I couldn't put it down. The two characters were intriguing with strong personalities. I would definitely recommend this book. There were a lot of ups and downs, and definitely worth the read. Buy it, read it, love it!
A lovely read. Engaging characters with an interesting storyline. I enjoyed the pacing of the story and the gentle falling in love of the lead characters. A wonderful debut novel!
Falling in love cannot be rehearsed. A wonderful love story of an actor and musician coming together in perfect harmony.I would recommend this book to my friends.
